As Bitcoin (BTC) surged above $120,000, the pseudonymous creator of the world’s largest cryptocurrency, Satoshi Nakamoto, is now unofficially ranked as the 11th richest person on the planet.

Satoshi’s Bitcoin Holdings Now Exceed $131 Billion

Nakamoto is widely believed to own around 1.096 million BTC, held across multiple wallets. At current market prices, this portfolio is worth over $131 billion, placing the mysterious figure ahead of several tech tycoons in terms of theoretical net worth.

This would push Satoshi past Dell Technologies CEO Michael Dell, who has an estimated net worth of $125.1 billion.

However, mainstream billionaire rankings like Forbes do not include crypto wallet holdings when calculating individual wealth unless they are linked to publicly verified assets such as company shares.

What Bitcoin Price Would Make Satoshi #1?

To surpass Elon Musk, who tops the global billionaire list with a net worth of approximately $404 billion, Bitcoin would need to rise by 208%, reaching a price of around $370,000 per coin — assuming other billionaires’ wealth remains constant.

If Bitcoin climbs to that level, Nakamoto’s net worth could exceed $400 billion, making him the richest person in modern history.

Could Nakamoto Climb Higher in 2025?

According to several crypto market analysts, it’s possible. A June forecast by a top ETF strategist suggests that if Bitcoin maintains an average annual gain of 50%, Nakamoto could break into the top two richest people globally by the end of 2026.

More short-term predictions from market experts point toward a bullish trend. Some expect BTC to reach $133,000 by September and possibly $200,000 to $250,000 by the end of 2025, driven by institutional demand and decreasing supply.

The Largest Bitcoin Whale

Satoshi remains the largest known individual holder of Bitcoin, far ahead of others. For comparison:

  • Winklevoss twins: ~70,000 BTC
  • Tim Draper: ~30,000 BTC
  • Michael Saylor (personal holdings): ~17,732 BTC

Meanwhile, corporations and custodians collectively hold about 847,000 BTC, which is less than Satoshi’s personal stash.

Satoshi’s Wealth Reflects Bitcoin’s Rise

As Bitcoin’s price surges and mainstream adoption accelerates, Satoshi Nakamoto’s shadow wealth continues to grow. While the identity remains unknown and none of the BTC has ever moved, Nakamoto stands as a symbolic and financial icon of the cryptocurrency era — now with a fortune larger than most global billionaires.
