Corporate giant marks milestone with fresh $18M purchase amid record prices

In a bold move signaling continued confidence in Bitcoin, Strategy has added another $18 million worth of the cryptocurrency to its already massive treasury, marking the fifth anniversary of its landmark BTC adoption plan.

The company disclosed in a recent SEC filing that it acquired 155 BTC last week at an average price of $116,401 per coin. This brings its total holdings to 628,946 BTC, purchased for about $46.1 billion at an average cost of $73,288 per Bitcoin.

The purchase coincided with Bitcoin trading near all-time highs of around $122,000, underscoring the firm’s aggressive accumulation strategy even in bullish market conditions.

“If you don’t stop buying Bitcoin, you won’t stop making money,” said Strategy co-founder Michael Saylor in a recent public statement, reaffirming his long-term outlook.

Strategy first entered the Bitcoin market on August 11, 2020, with a $250 million purchase of 21,454 BTC at around $11,400 per coin. Since then, Bitcoin’s price has surged nearly 960%, turning the initial investment into one of the most profitable corporate treasury decisions in modern history.

Over the past five years, the company has executed 74 separate BTC acquisitions without a single sale, building the largest publicly-held Bitcoin reserve in the world. This unwavering approach has turned Strategy into a case study for corporate adoption of digital assets.

A Relentless Accumulation Model

Market analysts note that this consistent buying pattern, regardless of market cycles, reflects a long-term store-of-value thesis rather than short-term speculation. “It’s a classic conviction play,” said one crypto market strategist. “They’ve positioned themselves as the corporate embodiment of Bitcoin’s scarcity narrative.”

With prices hovering near record highs, Strategy’s latest purchase signals that institutional Bitcoin adoption remains robust — and that some corporate treasuries may now view BTC not just as a hedge, but as a primary reserve asset.
