CoinShares, a leading digital asset investment firm, reported a 26% increase in assets under management (AUM) for the second quarter of 2025, closing the period at $3.46 billion despite experiencing $126 million in outflows from XBT Provider products.
The growth was fueled by rising cryptocurrency prices, with Bitcoin (BTC) gaining 29% and Ethereum (ETH) surging 37% during Q2. These bullish market movements significantly offset product outflows and propelled the company’s overall performance.
Strong Profit Growth in Q2
CoinShares posted a net profit of $32.4 million, marking a 35% increase from the previous quarter’s $24 million and a 2% rise compared to last year’s Q2 figure of $31.8 million.
The company also highlighted that its asset management platform generated $30 million in management fees, driven by $170 million in net inflows into its CoinShares Physical products, making Q2 the second-strongest quarter for this business line.
Additionally, the capital markets unit delivered $11.3 million in income and gains, with $4.3 million attributed to ETH staking, demonstrating strong operational efficiency.
Crypto ETFs Gaining Momentum
CoinShares’ expansion plans align with a broader industry trend, as 92 crypto exchange-traded products (ETPs) are currently awaiting SEC approval, according to Bloomberg Intelligence data. This signals growing demand for regulated crypto investment vehicles in the United States.
US Listing and Market Outlook
CEO Jean-Marie Mognetti expressed optimism for the rest of 2025, citing increased market activity and crypto price performance post-Q2. He also confirmed that CoinShares is preparing for a U.S. listing, which could “unlock substantial value” for shareholders.
The firm expects a strong second half of the year as BTC and ETH continue to hit new highs, potentially attracting further institutional investment.
