Historic Surge in Digital Wealth
The Trump family’s cryptocurrency wealth has skyrocketed by nearly $5 billion on paper following the launch of World Liberty Financial’s (WLFI) governance token on multiple crypto exchanges this week. At the current price of $0.25 per token, the family’s 22.5 billion WLFI tokens are valued at approximately $5.6 billion, surpassing the estimated worth of their real estate empire.
According to the project’s official data, the Trumps own 22.5% of WLFI’s 100 billion token supply, along with a 38% equity stake in WLF Holdco LLC and 75% of presale revenues. Prior to the listing, during presales at $0.05 per token, their stake was worth around $1.1 billion. With the trading debut, their wealth increased fivefold in just days.
“This meteoric rise underscores the growing power of tokenized financial ecosystems,” commented a DeFi analyst.
WLFI’s market capitalization at launch hit $6.8 billion based on the circulating supply, with a fully diluted valuation of $25 billion.
The project raised $590 million in presales, with $442.5 million earned by the Trump family. At launch, 24.67 billion tokens were made available, while the remaining supply is locked under vesting schedules. WLFI functions as a governance token, granting holders voting rights on protocol decisions. The platform also operates a stablecoin (USD1), which now ranks as the sixth-largest stablecoin with a $2.6 billion market cap.
Trump’s Crypto Empire vs Real Estate
Alongside WLFI, Trump-linked entities hold major stakes in other digital assets:
- Official Trump memecoins: 80% controlled, worth $6.7 billion on paper.
- Trump Media & Technology Group: Valued at $4.9 billion, with 15,000 BTC ($1.6B) in treasury.
Collectively, this makes the Trump family’s crypto portfolio significantly larger than their $2.65 billion real estate holdings, according to Fortune estimates.
While these valuations are unrealized and subject to market volatility, the Trump family has achieved an unprecedented digital asset fortune within seven months—fueling debates over ethics and financial influence in U.S. politics.
