Strategy co-founder benefits from stock rally and Bitcoin reserves
Michael Saylor’s fortune has climbed by $1 billion in 2025, fueled by a strong rise in his company Strategy’s stock price and his debut on the Bloomberg Billionaire 500 Index. The co-founder and executive chairman now holds an estimated net worth of $7.37 billion, placing him 491st among the world’s richest individuals.

Stock Gains Drive Wealth Expansion
Since January, Strategy shares have risen nearly 12%, closing at $335.87 on Friday. Approximately $6.72 billion of Saylor’s wealth is tied to company equity, with another $650 million in cash holdings.
A market strategist explained, “Saylor’s wealth growth is closely linked to Strategy’s stock performance, which in turn reflects investor confidence in its Bitcoin accumulation strategy.”

Strategy’s Bitcoin Holdings
Strategy has become synonymous with large-scale Bitcoin purchases. The company currently holds around 659,739 BTC — valued at nearly $72.9 billion — representing about 3.4% of Bitcoin’s circulating supply.
Despite concerns that such purchases might distort the market, Strategy’s head of investor relations recently stressed, “The way we buy Bitcoin is we do not move the price of the Bitcoin.”
Saylor now joins a small group of crypto leaders ranked among the world’s wealthiest. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong stands at 234th with $12.8 billion, while Binance founder Changpeng Zhao holds the 40th position with $44.5 billion.
The list once included former FTX chief Sam Bankman-Fried before the exchange’s collapse in 2022.
Market Challenges Ahead
While Saylor’s net worth has jumped, Strategy shares remain down 12.4% over the past 30 days. The company also faced disappointment in August after being excluded from the S&P 500, despite meeting eligibility requirements and already holding a place in the Nasdaq 100.
An analyst commented, “Inclusion in major indices would provide greater visibility and liquidity, but for now, Strategy’s identity remains tied to its Bitcoin-first approach.”
Michael Saylor’s $1 billion fortune increase reflects both the resilience of Bitcoin-focused strategies and the risks tied to volatile equity performance. His growing presence among global billionaires highlights the expanding influence of crypto-backed wealth on mainstream finance.
