Plume CEO Chris Yin forecasts explosive growth in tokenized real-world assets, driven by new asset classes, regulatory clarity and major institutional partnerships.

The market for real-world asset (RWA) tokenization is entering a new phase of expansion, with projections of significant growth over the next two years. According to Plume CEO Chris Yin, RWAs are rapidly moving beyond crypto-native audiences and attracting broader institutional interest. Yin believes the sector could grow three to five times by 2026, fueled by rising demand and advancing onchain infrastructure.

RWA Market Positioned for Exponential Growth

Yin explains that RWA adoption has surged throughout the year, with Plume tracking a 10x increase in RWA holders since January. He expects this trend to continue, noting that user growth in the coming year could potentially exceed 25x.

Current data from RWA analytics platforms shows over $35 billion in RWAs already tokenized onchain, spread across more than 539,000 holders.

Yin argues that the sector is still in its early stages. He says the market today is “almost entirely serving crypto natives,” but emphasizes that mainstream adoption is approaching rapidly.

He notes that “the combination of market maturity and potential rate cuts is pushing onchain users to look for higher-yield opportunities beyond U.S. treasuries.

This shift is already visible through rising interest in private credit, mineral rights, energy assets, GPUs, and other alternative categories. Yin also underscored that regulatory progress on stablecoins and tokenized assets in several jurisdictions will help move RWAs into practical, real-world usage.

Plume Expands Through Partnership With Securitize

In a major development for the sector, Plume announced a partnership with Securitize, a leading tokenization platform backed by major financial institutions. The collaboration will bring institutional-grade tokenized funds onto Plume’s Nest staking protocol, enabling investors to earn yield and trade RWAs onchain.

The first products will include Hamilton Lane funds, with additional issuers expected to integrate throughout 2026. The move links Securitize’s asset offerings with Plume’s network of over 280,000 RWA holders.

Despite not ranking among the top ten networks by asset value, Plume maintains nearly 50% of all RWA token holders. Yin explains that while individual wallet values may be smaller, the engagement and user base size reflect strong network health.

Plume has 280,000 users holding an aggregate $200 million of RWAs, which is a far more meaningful indicator of real usage,” Yin said.

As new asset classes emerge, regulations advance, and institutional partnerships grow, the RWA ecosystem is poised for significant expansion. Yin’s outlook suggests that 2026 could mark a breakout era, with RWAs transitioning from a niche crypto-native product into a large-scale financial infrastructure distributed across global markets.
