Ethereum treasury firm moves closer to owning 5% of total ETH supply as holdings return to profit
Bitmine has reached a major milestone in its Ethereum accumulation strategy after pushing its total Ether holdings beyond 4 million ETH, following a $40 million acquisition completed this week. The move reinforces the company’s aggressive long-term commitment to Ethereum as a core treasury asset.
According to the company’s latest update, Bitmine now holds more than 4.06 million ETH, after purchasing 13,412 ETH valued at approximately $40.6 million. Over the past week alone, the firm has added 98,852 ETH, bringing its total weekly purchases close to 100,000 Ether.
All recent acquisitions were completed at an average price of $2,991 per ETH, closely aligned with current market levels. The milestone was achieved in just 5.5 months, highlighting the rapid pace of Bitmine’s treasury expansion.
With ETH reclaiming the $3,000 level, Bitmine’s Ethereum position has moved back into profit after remaining underwater since the October market downturn. At current prices, the firm’s ETH treasury is valued at roughly $12.2 billion.
Bitmine has consistently stated its ambition to control 5% of Ethereum’s total supply. Based on current holdings, the company has already completed approximately 67% of that target, underscoring the scale of its accumulation strategy and confidence in the Ethereum ecosystem.
Bitmine’s shares have surged over 600% in the past six months, with its Ethereum-focused strategy launched in June acting as a key catalyst. Looking ahead, the company plans to introduce staking operations in early 2026, aiming to generate additional yield through a dedicated validator network.
By surpassing 4 million ETH, Bitmine has solidified its position as one of the most influential Ethereum treasury holders, signaling continued institutional conviction in Ethereum’s long-term value and utility.
