NY-listed miner boosts production in December, maintains long-term holding strategy
Bitcoin miner Cango Inc. closed 2025 with total holdings exceeding 7,500 BTC, reflecting increased production and stable operations. The company continues to hold its mined bitcoin, signaling a long-term accumulation strategy despite market volatility.
December Production and Holdings
In December, Cango produced 569 BTC, up from 546.7 BTC in November, lifting average daily production to 18.35 BTC per day. Total reserves reached 7,528.3 BTC, valued at over $700 million at current prices above $93,000. The miner emphasized it has no plans to sell its holdings in the near term.
Hashrate and Operational Performance
Cango’s deployed hashrate remained steady at 50 exahashes per second (EH/s), while average operating hashrate slightly declined to 43.36 EH/s. The production increase was attributed to favorable network difficulty adjustments. Hashrate measures the total computing power securing the Bitcoin network, with higher values reflecting more active or efficient mining operations.

Corporate Expansion and Funding
CEO Paul Yu highlighted strong operational growth throughout 2025, noting that higher daily production in December reinforced stable operating capacity. A major shareholder has committed $10.5 million in additional investment to support mining efficiency improvements and expansion into energy infrastructure and AI compute services, expected to close in January 2026.
Cango operates mining sites across over 40 locations in North America, South America, the Middle East, and East Africa. Since entering bitcoin mining in late 2024, the company has expanded alongside its international used car export business, maintaining a diversified operational footprint. The company’s production gains and BTC accumulation highlight its focus on long-term positioning amid evolving crypto market dynamics.
