Key Resistance at $4,300 Could Define Short-Term Trend
Ethereum (ETH) surged past the $4,200 level in the latest trading session, signaling renewed strength after last week’s sell-off pushed the asset below $4,000. The recovery has brought ETH back into a critical resistance zone, where buyers and sellers are expected to battle for control in the coming days.

On the 4-hour chart, Ethereum has rebounded strongly from the $3,860–$3,900 demand zone, with volume showing a notable uptick during the bounce. The move allowed ETH to reclaim the $4,100–$4,200 support-turned-resistance area, a key level that traders have been closely watching.
“Breaking above $4,200 was essential for Ethereum to avoid deeper losses. The next hurdle sits around $4,300–$4,350, which could determine if bulls have the strength to retest the $4,600 resistance,” said BITX market analyst.
The chart also highlights a weak high near $4,800, suggesting that a liquidity-driven move could eventually target this level if momentum continues to build.
Traders appear cautiously optimistic, noting that Ethereum’s ability to hold above $4,000 has kept the broader uptrend intact. Short-term consolidation is expected, but the underlying demand zones remain firm, offering a supportive backdrop for further gains.
“If Ethereum sustains its position above $4,200, we could see a gradual move toward $4,500. However, a failure to close daily candles above this level might trigger another retest of $3,950–$4,000,” According to BITX analysts.
Ethereum’s path forward hinges on the $4,200–$4,300 resistance cluster. A breakout above this area could open the way to $4,500 and $4,700, while rejection may keep ETH locked in a sideways range.
For now, bulls have regained short-term control, but the market awaits confirmation through higher closes and sustained buying activity. The $4,200 level now serves as a crucial dividing line between renewed upside potential and a possible pullback.
