New feature fuels trading activity, token rally, and positions Pendle among top DeFi protocols
Pendle Finance has reached a new record total value locked (TVL) of $8.27 billion, marking a major milestone for the decentralized yield-trading protocol. The surge follows the launch of Boros, a platform allowing traders to go long or short on funding rates, a functionality that has quickly attracted significant capital inflows.
Since its debut, Boros has seen substantial deposits and heightened trading activity, boosting market confidence in Pendle’s ecosystem. Over the past week, Pendle’s native token, PENDLE, has surged 45% to $5.60, reflecting growing investor interest in both the platform and its new feature.
“Boros is more than an upgrade — it’s a new market within DeFi,” said a Singapore-based decentralized finance strategist. “By enabling funding rate speculation, Pendle is giving traders tools traditionally reserved for sophisticated derivatives markets.”
Pendle’s core innovation lies in tokenizing future yield, allowing users to separate and trade yield components of assets. The introduction of funding rate trading extends this model, creating fresh opportunities for hedging, arbitrage, and capital efficiency.
Industry analysts note that the combination of rising TVL and a sharp token rally signals strong product-market fit. Some suggest that Boros could make Pendle a central hub for decentralized interest rate and funding markets.
“Liquidity begets liquidity,” commented a DeFi trader active in Pendle’s pools. “As more users participate, spreads tighten, depth increases, and the platform becomes the go-to place for yield and rate strategies.”
The achievement comes amid a broader revival in DeFi activity, as protocols roll out niche financial products that differentiate them from lending and AMM platforms. If current growth continues, Pendle could establish itself among the top-performing protocols in decentralized finance, both in locked value and trading volume.
