The YouTube rival’s integration of Bitcoin tipping marks a major step in mainstream crypto payments, empowering creators and expanding BTC’s real-world use.
Rumble to Enable Bitcoin Tipping for 51 Million Users
Video-sharing platform Rumble is set to introduce Bitcoin (BTC) tipping for its more than 51 million monthly active users, CEO Chris Pavlovski announced Friday at the Plan ₿ Forum in Lugano, Switzerland.
The rollout is being developed in partnership with Tether, the issuer of the world’s largest stablecoin USDT, marking a milestone collaboration between a major crypto firm and one of the fastest-growing social video platforms.
“Right now, we’re in the testing phase [but] we’re going to start rolling that out alongside Tether here in the coming weeks,” Pavlovski said.
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino added that a full rollout is expected by early to mid-December, pending final UX improvements and minor bug fixes.
First Bitcoin Tip Already Sent
The integration was publicly demonstrated when Rumble shared a video on X showing its first-ever Bitcoin tip sent to Canadian content creator and former political candidate David Freiheit.
The test transaction marked the start of a feature that could allow creators worldwide to receive direct Bitcoin payments — bypassing traditional payment systems and censorship-prone intermediaries.
Bitcoin Adoption Meets Creator Economy
The new tipping system could accelerate Bitcoin’s use in everyday payments, a goal long championed by Bitcoin advocates.
While institutional adoption has driven Bitcoin’s price surge, real-world transactional use remains limited. Block CEO Jack Dorsey has warned that without wider payment integration, Bitcoin risks straying from Satoshi Nakamoto’s vision of peer-to-peer electronic cash.
Ardoino highlighted how Rumble’s adoption of Bitcoin tipping could change that dynamic:
“Bitcoin and stablecoins can serve not only emerging markets, but also empower creators in developed economies. They bring financial freedom and protect users from being debanked for their views.”
Crypto Moves Align with Rumble’s Vision
Rumble’s Bitcoin tipping initiative follows a series of crypto-forward steps by the platform:
- In December 2024, Tether invested $775 million in Rumble, strengthening ties between the companies.
- In March 2025, Rumble adopted a Bitcoin treasury strategy, now holding 210.8 BTC worth approximately $23.4 million, according to BitcoinTreasuries.NET.
- Rumble is also working with MoonPay to introduce crypto wallets, making it easier for users to send and receive Bitcoin tips directly on the platform.
With Bitcoin tipping on Rumble expected to launch by December, the move could become one of the largest-scale implementations of BTC microtransactions in the creator economy to date.
