Sharplink Now World’s Largest Public ETH Holder
Sharplink Gaming has bought 79,949 ETH worth $258.9 million, reclaiming its spot as the largest publicly traded Ether holder after briefly falling behind BitMine Immersion Technologies.
This marks Sharplink’s biggest Ether acquisition to date, signaling intensified accumulation among institutional players.
The purchase was made at an average price of $3,238 per ETH, according to company disclosures filed Tuesday. At current market prices near $3,700, that investment is already showing unrealized gains.

Total Holdings Rise to 360,807 ETH
Following the new acquisition, Sharplink now holds 360,807 ETH, valued at approximately $1.3 billion, based on CoinGecko data. This comes just a week after another $49 million Ether buy, showing a deliberate ramp-up in ETH accumulation by the company.
With over 360K ETH, Sharplink leads the charge in public ETH holdings globally.
The company’s aggressive strategy comes as Ether continues to gain institutional credibility, especially following developments around Ethereum ETF applications and the broader use of ETH in tokenization.
ETH Race Heats Up Against BitMine
BitMine Immersion briefly overtook Sharplink last week, reporting 300,657 ETH in holdings after a $250 million private placement raise on June 30. At the time, Sharplink had just 280,706 ETH, according to public records.
However, Sharplink’s latest move decisively puts it back on top of the leaderboard, though CoinGecko’s public companies ETH ranking had not updated to reflect this at the time of reporting.
The battle for ETH dominance among public firms is intensifying — and Sharplink appears committed to staying ahead.
Why It Matters
This wave of institutional Ether accumulation reflects growing confidence in Ethereum’s long-term role in Web3 infrastructure, smart contracts, and real-world asset tokenization.
As Ether adoption increases across DeFi, enterprise, and payment layers, public companies are increasingly treating ETH as a strategic reserve asset, similar to how Bitcoin was treated in previous cycles.
Sharplink’s bold $259M ETH buy may set a precedent for more corporate ETH accumulation in 2025.
