State Street has expanded its push into digital assets by unveiling a new institutional crypto tokenization platform, signaling how major financial institutions are accelerating efforts to integrate blockchain technology into traditional markets.
Tokenized Funds and Digital Money Products
The platform is designed to help clients create and manage tokenized money market funds, exchange-traded funds, tokenized deposits, and stablecoins. According to the company, the goal is to bridge traditional financial assets with blockchain-based infrastructure, allowing institutions to issue and service products directly on distributed networks.
said Joerg Ambrosius, State Street’s president of investment services.;
In addition to tokenization tools, the platform offers digital asset custody, blockchain connectivity, and access to a growing range of crypto assets. State Street emphasized that combining robust compliance controls with global servicing capabilities is central to making tokenization viable for regulated institutions.
Tokenization has become a major focus across the financial sector as firms explore ways to improve liquidity, enable faster settlement, and support 24/7 market access. Industry analysts expect tokenized financial products to move closer to mainstream adoption in 2026, supported by clearer regulatory frameworks in the United States.
State Street manages approximately $5.4 trillion in assets, and its involvement in digital assets has expanded steadily over the past two years. Momentum increased sharply in 2025, including partnerships to launch blockchain-based funds designed to provide continuous on-chain liquidity.
State Street’s move aligns with a broader trend among large asset managers and banks experimenting with tokenized funds and crypto-linked investment products. As more institutions deploy tokenization at scale, blockchain is increasingly viewed as core financial infrastructure rather than an experimental add-on.
